Frequently asked questions
What does the tour include?
FUN!!! Other than fun, the tour includes transportation to four breweries in seven to eight hours, beer samples or a pint of local craft beer at each brewery (provided by the brewery), morning coffee, lunch, tours / brew education at each brewery (if available), bottles of water, souvenir tasting cups, door prizes, and games and surprises on the bus.
Do you have to be over 21?
Yes, all attendees must be 21 or over. IDs will be checked prior to boarding the bus.
What do I need to bring, if anything?
Please show your tour guide the confirmation email (this is your ticket) you receive after booking and current government ID.
Additional money may be necessary if you are interested in any brewery merchandise or additional beers other than the samples provided by each brewery.
A designated driver is highly recommended, and it is your responsibility to have a safe ride to and from the meetup point. If you don't have one available, consider using Uber, Lyft, or a taxi. Be safe!
What should I wear?
Dress for the weather, but be comfortable!
Where do we meet for the tour?
We will meet at Silver Grizzly Espresso (100 W Tyler Street) in downtown Longview, Texas. Look for us out front to get checked in.
Do we get food on the tour?
Yes, lunch is provided. We highly recommend eating a solid meal prior to the tour experience. This will be our first stop. You may also bring your own snacks on the bus.
Can I show up the day of the event without a reservation?
If there is available seating on the bus, you’re more than welcome to join the fun! Only exact cash will be accepted upon boarding, though. We do anticipate the tickets to sell out in advance of each tour, so it is advisable to purchase your tickets in advance.
If I’m not drinking, do I have to pay for a ticket?
Unfortunately, our costs are the same whether you imbibe or not. If you don't drink, join us anyway! You will still enjoy a great lunch and have a lot of fun!
Can I byobeer?
Yes, of course! Please limit your carry-on to a small soft-sided cooler, though. The cooler must be able to fit under your seat. No GLASS please. Feel free to share with your neighbors on the bus… a communal beer share for all! You will also have plenty of opportunities to acquire pints, flights, and samples during the tour.
You may also consider bringing a growler, too – BYOG! Some breweries do offer growler fills, and we will be more than happy to keep the growlers cold for you until we arrive back at our point of origination.
Where do I park? Can I leave my car there overnight?
Downtown Longview has plenty of parking lots available along Cotton Street. It is your decision to leave your vehicle overnight, though. As a reminder, we strongly urge you to either have a designated driver or utilize a cab, Lyft, or Uber.
Is tipping required?
Gratuity is not included with the price of the tour. Tipping is not required but strongly encouraged for your driver and your beertenders / wait staff. If you enjoy their service, show them some love! It's their livelihood. Please don't worry about tipping your hosts...your presence is more than thanks enough!
Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
Wheelchair-accessible buses are available, but they have to be reserved on a case-by-case basis. Therefore plenty of advance notice will need to be given to Aleways personnel in order to reserve a wheelchair-accessible bus. Also some of the breweries' actual brewing facilities (where the beer is being brewed) might not be wheelchair accessible, but we will be more than happy to inquire with each brewery as to whether this is the case or not. We want all of our Aleways passengers to enjoy the same fun experience!
Can I bring a Colt .45 onboard the bus?
No, this is exclusively a BEER bus, so cheap malt liquor is not allowed... nor are firearms of any kind (if that is the type of Colt .45 to which you're referring).
Do you have a cancellation policy?
We understand unexpected occurrences can happen beyond your control. We will certainly offer a rain check if you notify us 72 hours in advance of the tour. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds. If you prefer, you can also give your ticket to a friend or a family member who is 21 or over. The tour is rain or shine.
Aleways reserves the right to cancel tours due to unsafe weather or unfavorable roadways. Consideration for such circumstances is determined by the tour guide. At time of tour cancellation due to said circumstances, all available efforts will be made to notify the scheduled customers.
